| Sergeant Jason McDaniel is the training officer, firearms coordinator, and SRT commander for the sheriff’s office.
Before coming to the sheriff’s office, Sergeant McDaniel worked for the Department of Corrections, the Department of Juvenile Justice and was a military police sergeant in the Georgia Army National Guard. Sergeant McDaniel began working at the sheriff’s office in 2003. He was hired as a detention officer and has since held the position of deputy, before being promoted to sergeant. He was promoted to his current position in 2006. Sergeant McDaniel is certified as a general instructor, firearms instructor, defensive tactics instructor, shotgun instructor, and speed detection instructor. He has received training in hostage negotiations, special weapons and tactics, field training officer, and high risk warrant service.
Sergeant McDaniel is a graduate from Georgia College & State University where he received a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice.
