General Duties:
· Assure security of jail
· Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain pertinent jail records
· Make necessary security checks of prisoners and facility
· Perform other related duties as assigned
Persons employed in a detention officer position are responsible for receiving and processing prisoners confined to the Baldwin County Jail.
Additional responsibilities include: ensuring the safe, legal, and humane custody and care of persons who are incarcerated.
Detention applicants must possess the following skills:
· Skill in observation & interpersonal communications
· Skill in written and oral communication
All detention applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license.
