The Criminal Investigation Division performs technical, follow‑up, and time consuming investigations. The Criminal Investigation Division is headed by Captain Brad King who is directly accountable to the Sheriff.
Captain Brad King has been employed with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office since 1997. He has worked as a detention officer, deputy, K-9 handler, narcotics investigator, patrol shift lieutenant and was promoted to his current position in 2009. Captain King was a founding member of the Special Response Team and was an assistant commander of the unit. He supervised a nationally recognized traffic unit and worked with the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force as a narcotics investigator. Captain King is a certified paramedic, firefighter, Taser instructor, SWAT police counter sniper, and police dog decoy. During his law enforcement mandate class, Captain King received academic and firearms trophies. He has received six departmental Top Gun awards and the Gold Star Award.
