Captain Scott Deason

The Court Services Division performs the court security, civil and criminal process functions for the sheriff’s office.  This division services the Superior, State, Probate, Magistrate, Juvenile and Civil courts in addition to providing physical security of all the governmental offices within the courthouse.  The Court Services Division is headed by Captain Scott Deason who is directly accountable to the Sheriff.

Captain Scott Deason, a graduate of Leadership Baldwin and John Milledge Academy, began working at the Sheriff’s Office in 1996 as a deputy.  He has worked as an investigator and previously served as the patrol commander.  He began overseeing the court services division in 2006.  Captain Deason is a general instructor, hostage negotiator, and a Taser instructor.  During his law enforcement mandate class, Captain Deason received the firearms trophy. He was recently featured in the Milledgeville Scene’s “20 Under 40” profile, which recognizes 20 professionals in their respective occupations.  He is a graduate from Georgia Military College where he received an Associate degree in Criminal Justice.
