C.H.A.M.P.S.
Choosing Healthy Activities & Methods Promoting Safety
The mission of C.H.A.M.P.S. is to provide an educational program to Baldwin County’s youth, which will provide guidance, knowledge, and skills to be safe, healthy, and happy, in preparation for a successful life.
The program is typically taught to youth in the fifth grade. Some of the challenges our youth could be facing include: peer pressure, marijuana, tobacco, alcohol, stress, gangs, and bullying. The program will range in duration from a minimum of ten weeks up to more than twelve weeks based on the needs of the students.
It is the goal of the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the C.H.A.M.P.S. instructors to educate the students so they will know how to handle difficult situations if confronted.
